Pillar #1: Training
During three weekends of interactive training sessions, participants receive the tools they need to lead a team, embark on a successful career, and make a difference in their community.
Pillar #2: Mentorship
Every participant is supported individually by a mentor, professionals from a wide variety of fields, who draw from their own extensive experience to help guide participants.
Pillar #3: Community Project
Every participant is given the opportunity to apply their training and gain valuable leadership experience through the realization of a community project.
Pillar #4: Fostering Dialogue
SYF holds 3 conferences where participants meet professionals who share their experience, helping to develop participants career aspirations.
Seize Your Future strives to cultivate tomorrow’s leaders in today’s young women, by encouraging teenage girls to develop their leadership and make informed decisions in their lives and careers.
SYF truly gave me a head start over my peers. I receive the tools and experience necessary to leave my mark on my community and embark on my career. I gained a lot of confidence throughout this experience and had the opportunity of meeting some really special people.
Participating in SYF is an unforgettable experience that allows young women to gain a unique set of skills. It was a hard year filled with road blocks, but also one that showed me the true power of my determination and ambition.
SYF taught me to use my potential and to believe in the power of my dreams. I now know what I want and what I'm worth.
Plunging into the world seemed a daring and frightening idea where I saw myself struggling to keep afloat. However, with the Seize Your Future seminars, I'm assured I'll sail through life, full steam ahead!
Pratt & Whitney Canada is proud to partner with Seize Your Future (SYF) because it shares SYF’s vision of “helping young women develop the skills and decision-making abilities that will enable them to become the leaders of tomorrow.” It seemed like a natural fit – not only did it give P&WC an opportunity to give back to the community, it helped bring awareness of SYF and its leadership development program to P&WC employees and their daughters.
